Bryan D. Hathaway

Bryan D. Hathaway 47 of Ravenna passed away suddenly on Thursday December 10, 2015.  Bryan was born May 10, 1968 in Barberton to Robert and Shirley (Hamby) Hathaway and has lived in Ravenna most of his life.  Bryan was a sports connoisseur who loved his sports.  He was a die hard number one Browns fan and also loved the Cleveland Indians,  Cavaliers and Ohio State Buckeyes.  He was a wonderful loving coach who touched the lives of many in football, basketball and baseball.  He truly loved coaching.  Bryan was a truck driver for  Business Solutions Transport and graduated from Wadsworth High School.  He was a loving son, husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend.  He is survived by his parents,  Robert and Shirley Hathaway of Wadsworth, his wife of 20 years Sonnia,  his children Nathan Hathaway, Noah Hathaway, Nicole Hathaway, Austin Fox, Alyssa Young and Bryan R. Hathaway, his grandchildren Lance, Landyn, Kayson and his sisters, Michele (Ed) Tomon, Christina (Ronnie) Miller, Jayne (Dan) Selzer.  Many nieces, nephews and closest friends Henry, Joel, Brandon and Luke.    He was preceded in death by his brother Robert "Bill" Hathaway.  Calling hours will be Friday December 18, 2015 from 2:00 PM until time of the funeral services at 5:00 PM at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel.  Following the services, there will be an additional time of gathering at the Kent Social Services 1066 S. Water St. Kent, Ohio 44240.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a fund setup at Chase Bank- The Sonnia Atkinson Donation Fund-for care of the family.  Condolences and memories of Bryan may be shared with the family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
