Carita W. (Wilson) Mendiola

Carita W. Mendiola, 96 of Ravenna passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Tamarack Ridge in Brimfield.  She was born July 18, 1927 in Memphis, TN to Harry and Idealia (Barksdale) Wilson.  Carita was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and Infant Jesus of Prague Guild.  She was a CPA for Packer, Thomas & Company in Warren, a member of the AICPA and the Ohio Society of Accountants.  She worked for Vale Edge Sparkle in Ravenna while attending Kent State University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Accounting at the age of 52 while raising seven children.   She also enjoyed bridge, scrabble, traveling and puzzles.  Survivors include her children Joyce Hedrick, Janet Mendiola, Sue (Steven) Fosnight, Betty (Mike) Heisler, Karen Stein, and James (Tina) Mendiola, and daughter-in-law, Bonnie Mendiola; 6 grandchildren, Shelly Mendiola, Scott (Olga) Hedrick, Michael (Melissa) Hedrick, Travis (Leah) Thompson, Stevie Fosnight and Jason Fosnight and 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  She was pre-deceased by her parents, her husband, Nicholas; son, Lawrence J. Mendiola, and son-in-laws, Randy Hedrick and Dan Stein.   Friends will be received from 10:00 am until time of Mass at 11:00 am Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Church, Ravenna.  Fr.
