Carl Donald Holm

Rev. Carl Donald Holm, 90, of Ravenna, passed away  Friday June 30, 2017 at Aurora Manor.  He was born May 3, 1927 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to the late Axel and Marie (Sallstrom)  Holm.  Rev. Holm started his ministry in 1960 at the Augusta, Kansas Church of God and retired in 1997 from the Ravenna First Church of God.  He came to Ravenna in 1980 from the First Church of God North Apollo, PA.  In Ravenna Rev. Holm served as pastor at the First Church of God and served  on various boards and committees with Church of God in Northeastern, Ohio.  In his 37 plus years of ministry, he has officiated 345 weddings and more than 354 funerals.  Even after retirement, he was the visitation pastor  for Ravenna's First Church of God from 2008 until 2013 and had worked part time for the Shorts Funeral Homes in Ravenna and Streetsboro.  Survivors include his wife of 63 years Twila (Bargerstock) Holm, his children Carla Jean Pandohie, Leif Ericson (Sylvia) Holm, Paul Carlson (Kimberly) Holm, his grandchildren Christopher, Joshua, Aaren, Jessica, Amber, Amanda, Emma, Madeline, five great grandchildren and siblings Virginia Acheson and James Holm.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death  by six sisters and one brother.  Calling hours will be from 6-8 PM Friday July 7, 2017 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel and  on Saturday July 8, 2017 from 10:00 AM until time of  Funeral services at 11:00 at the Ravenna First Church of God 237 New Milford Rd.  Private family burial will take place.
