Carl R. Mcdaniel

Carl R. McDaniel 90 of Ravenna died Monday, January 15, 2018 at his home. He was born June 21, 1927 in Cleveland, Ohio to Upton E. and Thelma V. (Smith) McDaniel. Carl was a US Navy veteran of WWII. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, self-employed Insurance salesman and drove bus for Ravenna Schools. Carl was an avid gardner, wood worker and enjoyed the outdoors and was a supporter of wildlife and native american indians. Survivors include his children Allan and Julie, 3 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and brother Wes McDaniel. He was preceded by his wife Mary, daughter Diana Kale and siblings Roger McDaniel and Jane Davis. Calling hours will be from 10 AM to time of funeral services at 12 PM Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Bethel Baptist Church, 745 N. Freedom Street in Ravenna. Reverend David Ballert will officiate. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna. In lieu of flowers memorials should be to the family to help with final expenses. Arrangements have been entrusted to Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel.
