Carl ("The Milk Man") Spaeth

Carl F. Spaeth, 77 of Streetsboro passed away Friday August 1, 2014 at the Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna,  Ohio.  He was born May 8, 1937 in Mantua, Ohio to the late Howard and Emilie (Vogel) Spaeth.    Carl has lived in Streetsboro since 1965, was a member of the Aurora Mennonite Church, and a veteran of the US Army.   Carl was a loving husband, father and grandfather.  His pride and joy were his grandchildren, whom he spent all of his free time playing with and caring for.  Carl was known as "The Milk Man" for most of his life because he worked hauling milk from area farms to the dairy in Cuyahoga Falls.  After retiring from his transport business, he worked at Randolph Feed and finally for many years as a greeter at Walmart in Streetsboro.  He was a hard worker for all of his life and an avid Cleveland sports fan.  His true passion was the Cleveland Browns.  He predicted that next year the Browns will win the Super Bowl.  Survivors include his wife Alma (Edwards) Spaeth whom he married November 24, 1962, his children Carla (Ronnie) McGovern of Streetsboro, Susan (Mayur) Shah of Hudson, Bill (Heidi) Spaeth of Shalersville, his grandchildren Nayan, Katie, Isaiah, Jacob, Eliana and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Howard and sister Pauline May.  Calling hours will be Monday August 4, 2014 at the Shorts  Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes 9781 Page Rd. Streetsboro, Ohio 44241 from 5PM to 8PM.  Funeral services will  be 11:00 AM Tuesday August 5, 2014 at the Aurora Mennonite Church 59 E. Mennonite Rd.
