Carol A. (Collins) Akers

Carol A. Akers (Collins) 64 of Kent passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021. She was born March 16, 1957 in Ravenna, Ohio to David and Sarah (Homan) Collins. Survivors include her daughter Rachel Collins, grandchildren Trinity, Trina, Helaina and Jaymeson and siblings Jim (Cindy) Collins, Darlene (Myrl) Rose, Ballard Collins, Patricia Fullen, Diane (Dan) Boone and David (Crystal) Collins and aunt Dorothy White and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Preston Collins, sister Sandra Collins and and grandmother Mary Homan. Carol was a fun loving person who lit up a room when she walked in. She loved to joke around and her laugh was so contagious. She enjoyed nature and spending time with her family. She was known by many as “momma Carol” because she made everyone feel like family and had so much love to give. Carol had a very special relationship with her grandchildren. They were the light of her life. She will truly be missed by many.  Cremation has taken place, friends will be received Thursday, December 23, 2021 from 6 PM until time of memorial service at 7 PM at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel.
