Carole (Ziegler) Doolittle-Reed

Carole A. Doolittle-Reed 68 a lifelong Ravenna resident passed away Saturday April 10, 2010 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, Ohio. She was born February 3, 1942 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Murrel and Elma (Fredericks) Ziegler. Carole was the owner and operator of the Den Lounge in Ravenna and was very active in the Ravenna Balloon Affair where she was most proud playing Mrs. Claus for the children's parade for over 20 years. Survivors include her sons Tim (Vicki) Miller of Rootstown, Bruce (Cynthia) Miller of Ravenna, daughters Nancy (David) Donel of Stow, Carole A. Doolittle of Ravenna, step children Arden, Adam and Andrea Doolittle, 13 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Calling hours will be 6-8 PM Tuesday April 13, 2010 and on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until time of funeral services at 2:00 PM at Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery Ravenna, Ohio. The family requests memorials to the Leukemia Society.
