Carole Joyce (Hannen) Myers

Carole Joyce Myers, of Streetsboro, born September 30, 1932 in Alliance, Ohio died suddenly Saturday. May 15. 2010 at the age of 77 at Robinson Memorial Hospital.

Daughter of Floyd and Paula Hannen. Survived by brother, Charles and Loralie Hannen of Jack, Alabama, husband of 57 years, Lowell B. Myers of Streetsboro, son. Dr. Lowell B II and Melanie Myers of Hartville, daughter, Deborah and Dr. Randy Reed of Hudson, son. Dr. Douglas and Kelly Myers of Canton, daughter, Jane and Dr. David George of Wadsworth, and daughter Heidi and Dr. Gary Wheat of Hudson.

Grandmother of Tiffany Reed, Carolee Corbett, Melinda George, Tarah Myers, Nick Shifflet, Jennifer Wheat, Sarah Martin, Bridgette Kocak, Amy Reinmann, Stephanie Wheat, Douglas Myers II, Elizabeth Yeakley, Ashley Myers, Katelyn George, Ben Reed,  Rachael Myers. Lauren Myers, Lyndi Reed and Audrey Myers.

Great grandmother of Dylan Wheat, Jack Reed, and Kayla Wheat.

Carol attended Westminster College. and graduated from Kent State University with degree in Elementary and Special Education. She taught in Crestwood and Streetsboro City Schools for 20 years and was an active member of the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Hudson .Carol was an avid volunteer for Christ Care, Christian Cupboard, and Haven of Rest.

Calling hours will be held at Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Homes, 9781 Page Rd. Streetshoro. on Tuesday, May 18th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will he held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. 2113 Ravenna St. Hudson. on Wednesday, May 19th at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Carole's name to be made to Portage County Retired Teachers Association Scholarship Fund,2417 Duck Pond Drive Ravenna, Ohio 44266.
