Catherine “Kay” Hinchman, 10/13/1932- 01/18/2022. The second daughter born to John and Stella (Book) Cuthbertson of Erie ND on October 13, 1932. After her father's death the family settled in Moorhead, MN. Kay graduated with the 1950 class of Moorehead High School. Moving to Ohio she met and married Paul Hinchman and together they raised 3 children in Portage County. She was a long time member of Portage Faith United Methodist Church and Hope Circle. She served several years as Secretary to the Shalersville Zoning Board of Appeals. She worked in the banking industry for 25 years, and was an active member of Ravenna Balloon A-Fair for several years. She claimed her best job was managing the sales for Bogden Farm Produce at Mantua Corners. A faithful supporter of Crestwood Athletics, she could be found cheering on her kids, grandkids, and even her great grand kids. She recently traded in her red and gray for royal and white to cheer on her great grandson and the Chippewa Chipps! She believed her purpose in life was to sit on a bleacher. While reading, knitting, and attending her card club for over 40 years were some of her favorite past times. Nothing brought her more joy than her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and all of their accomplishments both on and off the field. She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband Paul, her sister Helen Newberger, granddaughter Katie Werchelsky, and great granddaughter Camilla Lyons. Survived by her daughters Paula Hinchman and Kris Werchelsky. Son John (Maryellen) Hinchman. Grandchildren Nichole Hart (Vincent McNelly) Morgan (Timm) Casto, Derrick Haines, Braden (Amanda) Lyons, and Tig Lyons. Great grandchildren Shawn, Kyle, Ashton, Raegan, Hughston, Carter, Coleman, and Cora. Calling hours will be Sunday Januay 23, 2022 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel. Funeral services will be held Monday 11:00 AM at the Portage Faith United Methodist Church with Rev. Vern Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery Shalersville, Ohio.
