Charles E. "Chuck" Snowberger 87 of Ravenna died Thursday, January 21, 2016. He was born November 7, 1928 in Altoona, PA to Charles and Helen (Hudson) Snowberger. Chuck was a member of the First Christian Church in Ravenna, had worked at Shorts Funeral Home, for the railroad as a switch operator and spent most of his time as a Ravenna Firefighter retiring from the Ravenna Fire Department. He served his country as a US Army veteran of WWII. Survivors include his wife Linda Jane (Sharp) Snowberger, daughters Sandy Abels, Anne (John) Widuck, Linda Lee Snowberger, DiAne (Troy Koch) Boese and Karen (Eric) Bunnell, grandchildren Jeremy Abels, Sr., Jason Abels, Taylor Widuck, Madison Widuck, David Bunnell, Molly Bunnell, Luke Bunnell, Nora Koch & Anderson Koch, great grandchildren Jeremy Abels, Jr. & Joseph Abels, sister Virginia (Charles) Ellsworth, brothers Ronald (Janet) Snowberger and Russell Snowberger and a brother in law Warner Sharp. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Marjorie Snowberger in 1984 and son in law Glenn Abels. Calling hours will be from 10AM until time of service at 11:30 AM Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at the First Christian Church, 420 S. Prospect Street in Ravenna. The Reverend Laurie Metzko will officiate. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to the Ravenna Fire Department or The First Christian Church in Ravenna.
