Charles Joseph Jones, Sr.

Charles Joseph Jones, Sr., 85 of Ravenna, passed away Monday April 8, 2024 at UH Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio.  On August 18, 1938 in Beckwith, West Virginia, Charles was born to the late Charles Stewart and Cloia Angeline (Woolwine) Jones,  He has lived in Ravenna since 2016 and was formerly of Spencer, West Virginia.  Mr. Jones was a veteran of the US Army and had retired from Filmco in Aurora,  Ohio.  While in Spencer, WVA he was a member of the American Guns Society, the VFW, AKC and loved to show German Short Hair Pointers.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Johnny Jones, Stewart Jones, Loretta Ross and 1/2 sister Cordelia Oberholter.   Survivors include his children  Kim Stull, Charles (Sonyoung) J. Jones, Jr., his grandchildren Alex, Tori, Tia, Britny, David, his great grandchildren Tristan and Kai and sisters Frances Martin and Gloria Bostik.  Calling hours will be Sunday April 14, 2024 from 1:00 PM until time of funeral services at 2 PM at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel.  In honoring his wishes, cremation will follow the services.  Please visit www.sscfuneralhomes.com to share a memory, offer a condolence or light a candle for the family.
