Charles Ira Keele

Charles Ira Keele, 92, of Ravenna, Ohio, went to be with Jesus on February 26, 2025. Charles was born in Hickory Hills, Illinois, on February 13, 1933, to Alvin and Dora (Greenwalt) Keele. Charles Keele was a devoted Christian and a loving husband, father of six children, grandfather of eleven grandchildren, and great-grandfather of twenty-two great-grandchildren. Charles met the love of his life, Susan Youngblood while growing up in Hickory Hills, Illinois, attending the same school. They were married on April 30, 1951, and were together until his passing.   Charles worked in an explosives factory during the Korean War and then worked for and retired from Chrysler after thirty-three years. Charles enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, mission work, disaster relief work, as well as helping build churches and homes for those in need. Over his lifetime, he spent countless hours giving his time to the community. Charles left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered.  Charles was a steadfast believer in Christ throughout his life, serving as a pastor for many years. He never missed an opportunity to share the love of God with everyone he met.

All who knew him were lucky to call him family and friends, and he will forever be missed.  Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Dora Keele, his sisters Margie Keele Zimmerman and Barbara Keele Fountain, and his daughter Karen L. Darnell. Charles is survived by his wife, Susan F. Keele, daughter Kathryn D. Blankenship, sons Kenneth Keele (Debbie), Kevin Keele, Keith Keele, and Klint Keele (Candy), and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 4th, from 11 AM to 12 PM at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home in Streetsboro, Ohio. Service will begin at 12 PM followed by the burial at Riverside Cemetery on State Route 303 in Mantua, Ohio.  Condolences and memoris of Charles may be shared with his family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
