Charles J. Liston 88 of Ravenna died Monday, June 3, 2013 at the Gardens of the Western Reserve in Streetsboro. He was born May 2, 1925 in New Martinsville, WV to Charles C. and Bessie M. (McCoy) Liston. He has lived in Ravenna since 1943 and was formerly of Bellaire, Ohio. Charles was a veteran of the US Navy serving in WWII, worked for 41 years for B.F. Goodrich in Akron in the Calendar Room, as a Millman and in the Transportation Department before retiring in 1985 and was a substitute bus driver for Ravenna City Schools for 9 years. Survivors include his son William L. (Sheila) Liston of Aurora, grandchildren Michelle (Merl) Rich and Timothy Liston, great grandchildren and apples of his eye Emma and Jacob Rich and a brother Arthur F. Liston of New Martinsville, WV. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty M. in 2005, sisters June Marshall and Shirley Sapp and brothers Kenneth, Jack and Ralph. Calling hours will be from 12 noon to time of services at 1 PM Friday, June 7, 2013 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel with Reverend Dave McClellan officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna. The family wishes to thank the Gardens of the Western Reserve and Crossroads Hospice for their Care and support.
