Charles E. Scott 79 of New Matamoras, Ohio died Monday, July 25, 2016. He was born October 17, 1936 in Rinard Mills, Ohio to Chauncey and Audrey (Griffin) Scott. Charles was a member of the Low Gap Christian Union Church in Rinard Mills, OH and the Masterson Masonic Lodge #429 in Lebanon, OH. He retired from the maintenance department at Kent State University. Survivors include his daughters Sheryl A. Norsen of Ravenna, Rhonda Daczko of Kent and Sandra Shipper of Costa Mesa, CA, son Gregory Scott of Ravenna, 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, sister Pat Boron of New Matamoras, brothers James Scott and Tom Hall both of Rinard Mills, OH, companion Yvonne Weckbacher and his loving dog Sally. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Shirley, sister Linda Sue Jackson and brother George Scott. Calling hours will be from 6 - 8 PM Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10 AM Friday, July 29, 2016 at the funeral home with Reverend Bill Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Shalersville. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to EMS & FD in Graysville and Bethel Ohio.
