Charles C. Shaffer 79 of Streetsboro died Saturday, September 6, 2014 at University Hospital in Cleveland. He was born December 24, 1934 in New Salem, PA to Harris B. Sr. and Nora Pearl (Seese) Shaffer. A Streetsboro resident for most of his life, he was a US Army veteran, a member of the Church of Christ in Streetsboro, the Rubber City Model A Club, the Streetsboro American Legion and the Aurora Masonic Lodge. Charles was a bus driver for Greyhound, Streetsboro City Schools and Maplewood JVS and worked as a custodian for Streetsboro Schools. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Judith (Benach), brother Harris B. (Nancy J.) Shaffer, Jr. of Mantua, 2 nieces and 2 nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother. Calling hours will be held form 5 - 8 PM Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11 AM Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at the funeral home with Ralph Price officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Streetsboro.
