Christine E. (Bailey) Boettler born in Ravenna on Jan. 20, 1963, died at Akron General Hospital on Tuesday, April 30th, after an 8 month battle with cancer. She is the daughter of Sandy Bailey of Warren and Curtis Bailey of Cleveland. She graduated from Ravenna High in 1981. She was employed by Kaiser Permanente as a hospital and physician contractor. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, the Elks, the Ravenna Moose and the Italian American Society. Until her illness she was very active and enjoyed being with her many friends and family, golfing, and especially bocci tournaments. She was extremely loyal to friends and family and always stood up for whom and for that in which she believed. Christine was fearless in that when things seemed to be going against her, she would pick up the pieces and begin again. She was a strong, self-made woman who knew how to take one day at a time. She will be sorely missed by all who love her. She is survived by her parents, her sons Joshua, Michael & Matthew Boettler of Ravenna, Dave McBee (her significant other), sisters Michelle Brett of Maryland and Amy Bailey of Philadelphia, brother Eric Bailey of Colorado, Mrs. Shirley Dolbow (her aunt), Rich & Michael Dolbow (cousins), and Peachey (her cat),and numerous friends who have walked the walk with her. Calling hours will be from 5 - 8 PM Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. A mass of christian burial will be held at 12:30 PM Friday, May 3, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna with Father Carl Kish officiating. Burial will follow in Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent
