Christine E. (Savercool) Lopez

Christine E. Lopez 60 of Ravenna passed away Tuesday February 28, 2017 at her home with her family by her side.  She was born on May 22, 1956 in Ravenna to the late Lawrence and Magdalene (Schoen) Savercool.  Chris has lived in Ravenna most of her life, was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna and was the owner and operator of A Way of Life Hair and Health Center in Ravenna.  Chris was a devoted mother and friend. Hobbies included animals and gardening. She will be remembered by her upbeat, positive nature and strength. Her infectious laugh and courageous spirit will be missed by many.   Survivors include her loving daughter Nichole  Shackelford and her husband Casey, her sisters Laura (Michael) Sheriff , Eileen (Rick) Githens, her nieces and nephews Jeremy McIntyre, Sarah Doro, Kristian Doro, Lizz Githens, Nick Githens, a loving great Aunt to CJ and James and her special companion Jerry.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Rick Lopez on January 20, 2015.  Calling hours will be 5 -8 PM Monday March 6, 2017 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Tuesday March 7, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna with Father William Kraynak officiating.  At her request, cremation will follow the services.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve.  Condolences and memories of Chris may be shared with the family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com .
