Clara I. (Meloy) Cumpson

Clara I. Cumpson 94 of Ravenna, formerly of Kent, died Sunday, January 12, 2014. She was born January 8, 1920 in Kent, Ohio to Clarence and Leona (Mellin) Meloy. Clara worked as a cook for Western Reserve Academy and Kent State University, bowled on Tuesday evening at Twin Star Lanes and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kent. Survivors include her daughter Irene (Robert) Derr of Ravenna, 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 1 great great granchild and a brother Willard Meloy of Brimfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arthur L. in 1973, stepdaughter Lorena Denning, 5 sisters and 3 brothers. Calling hours will be from 11 AM to time of services at 1 PM Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel with Pastor Douglas Fidler officiating. Burial will follow in Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 600 South Water Street, Kent, OH 44240.
