Clarence H. Flinn 88 a long time Ravenna resident died August 18, 2011. He was born February 28, 1923 in Woods County, WV to the late Herman and Bertha (Rawson) Flinn. He moved to Ravenna in 1944 after serving in the U.S. Army during WWII. He met and married his wife the late Virginia Klemm in October 1946. He worked as a top-notch mechanic for the Gifford Buick Garage in Ravenna for many years until they closed. Many customers would ask for him personally to work on their cars. He retired in 1985 as the Supervisor for the Portage County Engineers. After retiring, he and Virginia enjoyed spending the winters in Florida, traveling by motorcycle on many trips and square dancing with the Circulator Square dance club. He was a member of the First Church of God in Ravenna. Survivors include his three loving children, William Flinn of Chardon, Linda (Dennis) Anderson of Kent, Nancy (Paul) Pryatel of Cleveland, 8 grandchildren, William Flinn Jr, Erica Cerri, Justin Pryatel, Erin Pryatel, Andrew Pryatel, Adam Pryatel, Cory Pryatel, Jordan Pryatel, one great grandson Todd Flinn, sisters, Leona Lemley of Ravenna, and Lyla Rogers of Rootstown, plus many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents , he was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell Flinn and sister, Lerah Hale. Calling hours will be held from 2 - 5 PM Sunday, August 21, 2011 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, August 22, 2011 at Grandview Memorial Park, with Rev. Carl Holm officiating. Burial will follow the service.
