Clyde H. Swartz

Clyde H. Swartz 79 of Rootstown passed away Sunday May 13, 2012 at Select Specialty Hospital in Akron, Ohio. He was born October 26, 1932 in Akron, Ohio to the late Raymond and Hazel (Corbett) Swartz. Mr. Swartz has lived in rootstown since 1985 and was formerly of the Shalersville, Brimfield and Kent areas. He retired from the Davey Tree Company in Kent and was a member of the First Church of God in Ravenna. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and was very active in his church where he served as an usher. Survivors include his daughters Linda (Lynn) Orr of Fredericksburg, Ohio Robin (Kelly) Breazeadle of Murphy, NC, his son David Swartz of Rootstown and his six grandchildren, Jared, Daniel, Melissa, Adam, Jacob and Jacqueline. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Isabelle on December 10, 1999 and his sister Carol McGill. Calling hours will be 6-8 PM Tuesday May 15, 2012 at the Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday May 16, 2012 at the First Church of God in Ravenna with Pastor Tim Hauenstein officiating. Burial will follow in Homeland Cemetery Rootstown, Ohio.  The family requests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of God 237 New Milford Rd.
