Cory Thomas Swift, 24, of Ravenna, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2013 in his home. He was born on December 21, 1988 in Ravenna, to Kenneth and Cindy (Bachtel) Swift. Cory worked at Portage Industries and Doggie Day Care in Twinsburg. In addition to his parents, Cory is survived by his sister, Cassandra Swift of Ravenna; paternal grandfather, Kenneth Swift of Ravenna; maternal grandparents, Jim and Nancy Bachtel of Ravenna; aunts, Vicki (Gary) Jones of Ravenna, Debbie (Danny) Dobrilovoc of Ravenna, Merry Lou (Tony) Gray of Rootstown, Penny (Bill) Englehart of Edinburg; uncles, James (Theresa) Bachtel of Ravenna, Bob Swift of Ravenna, Mike (Hope) Swift of Lake City, Florida, and Gary Swift of Lake City, Florida; and several cousins. Cory was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Barbara Swift. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5-8 PM at the Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Ravenna, Ohio.
