Craig Moore, a beloved member of the Aurora community, passed away recently. Craig, along with his brother John, inherited the Moore Farm, which became a haven for local youth. He generously opened the farm to Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and 4-H groups, providing a space for meetings, events, and camping to support Aurora’s young people. Craig’s philanthropic spirit extended beyond the farm. His significant donation to Kiwanis Moore Park funded the pavilion, creating a cherished community space. As a dedicated member of the Moore Trust Board, Craig was instrumental in providing educational assistance to local youth. For several years, Craig hosted Pioneer Days, a memorable fundraiser for the Aurora One Fund. This event was not only a vital fundraiser but also an educational experience enjoyed by families throughout the community. Those who knew Craig recognized his unique spirit. He lived life marching to his own drum, leaving an indelible mark on all who met him. Craig Moore’s legacy of generosity, community service, and individuality will be deeply missed. Cremation has taken place. He will be laid to rest at 11 AM on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Aurora City Cemetery. Condolences and memories of Craig may be shared at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
