Daniel J Addison, Jr

Daniel J. Addison, Jr., 81 of Ravenna, passed away Wednesday October 26, 2022 at UH Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio with his daughter and wife of almost 60 years, Nancy, by his side. On February 21, 1941 in Greenville, Pennsylvania, Dan was born to the late Daniel J, and Margaret (Robbins) Addison, Sr.  A resident of Ravenna since 1966, Dan managed Widener’s Restaurant for 13 years and started as a volunteer Fireman in 1976. By 1979, Lieutenant Addison joined the department full-time and served proudly as a Fireman and Paramedic for 27 years before his retirement in 2003. Dan was also a faithful CPR/First Aid/AED Instructor for various groups around the Ravenna community. Dan was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Donna Petry and Ronald Addison.  Survivors include his wife Nancy L. (Martin) Addison whom he married May 4, 1963, his children Daniel J. (Tari) Addison, III, Stephen E. Addison, Kimberley A. Addison, his grandsons Zakary Perry, Shane Perry, Parker Addison, his great grandson Jackson Paul Perry, his brothers Ben and Larry Addison, and many nieces and nephews.  Calling hours will be Sunday October 30, 2022 from 2-4 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel.  In honoring Dan's request cremation will follow the calling hours.  Condolences and memories of Dan may be shared with his family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
