Danny M. Morris, 79, of Ravenna, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at University Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.
He was born on December 2, 1946, in Akron, Ohio, to the late James and Mallie (Adams) Morris. Dan grew up in Randolph and later made his home in Ravenna, where he spent most of his life. A proud Vietnam veteran, he served in the U.S. Army. He went on to retire from Filmco, now Berry Plastics, after 42 years of dedicated service as a foreman.
Known for his warm personality and easygoing nature, Dan was often described as someone who never met a stranger. His friendliness and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. Above all, he had a deep love for his family and cherished the time he spent with them.
Dan was deeply involved in the community, serving as past president of Ravenna Hot Stove Baseball and as president of Ohio Hot Stove Baseball for 34 years. He also dedicated time to coaching youth bowling at Twin Star Lanes, now Spins Bowl Kent, where he enjoyed mentoring young bowlers.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Gail (Wilkins) Morris, whom he married on July 6, 1968; his children, Wade Morris and Kelly Coffman; his grandchildren, Connor, Brooke, Megan, and Gabby; and his siblings, James “Smokey” Morris, Kenny Morris, and Chris Morris; and his faithful dog, Murphy, who was his constant companion and best friend.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Condolences, memories, and candles may be shared online at www.ssc.funeralhomes.com.
