Darrell T. Cowan

Darrell T. Cowan 90 of Streetsboro died Sunday, August 29, 2010. He was born June 26, 1920 in Cuyahoga Falls to the late Robert and Muriel (Bolender) Cowan. Mr. Cowan was the owner of Smith and Cowan Ready Mix and Building Supply Company and he and his brothers operated Cowan Brothers Christmas Trees for over 70 years. He was a member of the Ravenna Congregational Church and a lifetime member of the Ravenna Elks Club. Survivors include his wife of 69 years Carol (Rundquist), daughters Sandra Caniglia and Jane (Rick) Rowe both of Streetsboro, grandchildren Stacy Maffei, J.D. Languth, Kristin Caniglia, Jeff Caniglia, Brad Rowe and David Rowe and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Glenn, Paul and Howard Cowan and son in law Jim Caniglia. Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel, with friends received form 1:00 PM to time of service. Reverend Byron George will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Streetsboro.
