David L. Godby

David L. Godby 78 of Ravenna passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at UH Portage Medical Center in Ravenna following a short battle with cancer. He was born December 14, 1940 in Belle, WV to the late James E. and Elsie (Perkins) Godby. David graduated in 1957 from Dupont High School in Belle, WV and worked as an electrician and in maintenance for Mega Plastics in Garrettsville. Survivors include his companion of 22 1/2 years, Daisy Beddell, who loved him very much and was by his side during his cancer battle, children Robin Lefever and Mark Godby, grandchildren William D. Price and Danell Weilts and siblings Kathryn Ann Godby and Terrance Dayle Godby. His brother James E. Godby, Jr. passed away October 10, 2019. Memorial calling hours will be from 5 PM until time of memorial service at 7 PM Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Pastor Ken Warren will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to the American Cancer Society, 10501 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44106. Amazing Grace - Dave is now with Jesus and is celebrating in Heaven - He would want everyone to know He is okay now.
