David R. Hensley 70, of Ravenna passed away Thursday November 3, 2011 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, Ohio. He was born March 21, 1941 in Cord, Arkansas to Randolph and Essie (Cobb) Hensley. Mr. Hensley has lived in Ravenna the past 17 1/2 years, was a member of the Stow Mission Baptist Temple and was formerly of Streetsboro. He was a veteran of the US Navy, enjoyed fishing and antique shopping and had retired from M.H. Equipment where he worked as a mechanic for 42 years. He had also worked for the Chrysler Corporation and a police office for the city of Streetsboro for 18 years. Survivors include his mother Essie Hensley of Streetsboro, his wife of 21 years Sharon (Foltz) Hensley, his children Lisa (Scott) Dozanti of Ravenna, Shirley Hensley of Columbus, Michelle Hensley of Ravenna, Rachel Hensley of Ravenna, David Hensley of California, Randy Hensley of Idaho, grandchildren Nathaniel, Danielle, brother Darrell Hensley of Twinsburg, sister Gloria Sorace of Twinsburg and his ex-wife Sandra. He was preceded in death by his father Randolph and brother James. There will be no calling hours, memorial services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday November 5, 2011 at the Stow Mission Baptist Temple with Pastor Ryan Gilin officiating.
