David O. Hill, Sr.

David O. Hill, Sr. 84 of Ravenna passed away at his residence on Saturday March 7, 2015.  He was born January 6, 1931 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio to the late Orrin and Mary (Adams) Hill.  Mr. Hill has lived in Ravenna since 1977 and retired from  DCAS in Barberton  where he worked as an Inspector and buyer.  He attended the Bethel Baptist Church in Ravenna and was a veteran of the US Army.  Mr. Hill was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years.   Survivors include his wife Ruth (Dufford) Hill whom he married January 27, 1956, his children David (Linda) Hill, Jr. of  West Farmington, Theresa (Peter) Leider of Castle Rock, CO, his grandchildren Jennifer Shank, Janelle Gavagan, Angela Pruitt, Vince Hill  and three great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Orrin Hill.   Calling hours will be Wednesday March 11, 2015 from 11:00 am until time of services at 12 Noon at Bethel Baptist Church Ravenna with Pastor Dave Ballert officiating.  Burial will follow in Mottown Cemetery Deerfield, Ohio.  Funeral services entrusted to Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel.  The family request donations to Bethel Baptist Church in lieu of flowers.
