David A. Thorpe

David A. Thorpe 80 of Streetsboro passed away Friday, June 5, 2020 at UH Portage Medical Center in Ravenna. He was born December 11, 1939 in Ashtabula, Ohio to Howard B. and Elisabeth (VanSlyke) Thorpe. David was a US Army veteran and had worked at McHenry and Associates as a mechanical and electrical engineer. Survivors include his children Donald (Karen) Thorpe, Cindy Benedict, and Sharon (Eric) Cox, 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Diana in 2018 and a sister Marilyn Meinke. Private family services will be held. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg, Ohio. Arrangement have been entrusted to Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to the Summit County Humane Society 7996 Darrow Rd, Twinsburg, OH 44087  or the Society for the Blind at societyfortheblind.org/donate.
