David J. Watters, 75, of Charlestown Twp., passed away Friday September 26, 2025 at his home with his family by his side. He was born In Ravenna, Ohio on February 13, 1950 to the late Gerald and Aletha (Gilbert) Watters. He has been a lifelong Charlestown Twp. resident where he served as a volunteer for the Charlestown Twp. Fire department. Mr. Watters was a proud veteran of the US Army serving in the Vietnam War. He retired from American Spring Wire in 2017 where he worked in the maintenance department and was a member of the Ravenna VFW and the Ravenna American Legion. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Watters on June 25, 2018 after 46 years of marriage and his siblings Donald Watters, Karen McClay and Gary Watters. Survivors include his daughters Tina (Bob) Lattimer, Jodee (Sahim Boudhan Bentaib) Watters, his grandchildren Ashley Lattimer, Katherine Lattimer and Kendrick Watters, his great granddaughter Eleanor Knopsnider and his siblings Linda Williams, Denise Long, Dennis Watters and Robin Matthews. Calling hours will be Wednesday October 1, 2025 from 5 to 7 Pm at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel with full military honors at 5 PM. Cremation will follow and he will be laid to rest next to his wife in Charlestown Twp. Cemetery. We would like to ask in lieu of flowers to make donations to Portage County APL.
