Former Streetsboro and Ravenna resident Deborah Mary Hura, 56, died after a brief but valiant fight against cancer. She passed on Saturday, June 5, 2010, in Norris, South Carolina surrounded by her family. She was born June 27, 1953, in Garfield Heights to Frank and Shirley Woljevach. She spent her childhood in Streetsboro until she met her soulmate on a cold day in January, 1971. She married Anthony Thomas Hura three weeks later on January 24, 1971, and they moved to Ravenna. Debi’s life with Tony was a constant adventure and the two crammed several lifetimes of experiences into the 39 years that they were married. They broke the mold when they made Debi. She was a friend to everyone and never met a stranger. She was happiest when she was making others happy, especially with her cooking. She loved to quilt, garden, and spend time with her pets. Her sense of humor and kindness knew no bounds. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Anthony Hura; mother, Shirley Woljevach of Stow; brother Thomas Woljevach; two daughters and their spouses, Brian and Angela Gilbert of Charlotte, North Caroina, Eric and Melanie Brown of Alexandria, Virginia; two grandchildren, Georgiana and Nolan Gilbert of Charlotte, North Carolina . A memorial mass will be held at 12:00 on Friday at St. Joan of Arc Church at 8894 State Route 14 in Streetsboro . Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends before the Mass from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Homeat 9781 Page Road in Streetsboro, Ohio .
