Delano "Dale" L. Montgomery 79 of Ravenna passed away at his home with his loving family at his side on Friday, May 24, 2013. He was born June 9, 1933 in Calhoun, GA to the late Willie Walker and Katie (Joyce) Montgomery. He served in the US Army before working for Chrysler in Twinsburg from where he retired as an inspector after 37 years. He was so well liked by everyone, all the kids in the neighborhood called him Dad. Dale enjoyed painting, drawing, bowling, hunting, and traveling to his home in West Virginia. He also like attending classes a Maplewood Career center. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Marge (Pawloske) Montgomery whom he married February 5, 1959, daughters, Joyce (John) Hughes of Ravenna, Donna (Jimmy) Smith of Alliance, Michelle (Mike) Whitacre of Ravenna, Jan (Jim) Stacy of Ravenna, sisters, Eva (Jack) Roach of MI, Janette Nelson of MI, brother Larry (Vickie) Montgomery of FL. 11 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Montgomery. Calling hours will be held from 2 - 4 & 6-8 PM Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at the Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Alexoff officiating. Burial will follow the service in Maple Grove Cemetery.
