Dennis Baird

Dennis Baird, 70, of Streetsboro, after a nineteen-month roller coaster ride with a glioblastoma, Dennis left us for his last great adventure on August 20, 2026. Dennis was born on January 1, 1956, foiling 1955 tax deduction plans, in Ravenna, OH, to Raymond and Kathleen (Madden) Baird. He relished his spot as the 2nd child, as, in his opinion, only 2nd children are planned. Dennis is survived by his mother, Kathleen, sisters, Lynne Rumsey, Brenda Hards, and Darlene Baird, brother Daren (Tracie) Baird, and sister-in-law Shirley Baird. He is preceded in death by his dad, Raymond, brother John Baird and brother-in-law Greg Hards. Among the many friends who will miss Dennis are his best friend, Lynda Cooke and her children Nicole (Mitchell), Jennifer (David) and Ashlee (Jerry), who were like his “adopted” grandkids. Dennis’ four-legged companion, Reba, will be lost without him.

Everyone who knew Dennis can regale you with his antics. He was a natural born comedian who could have you laughing so hard your sides hurt, tears were streaming down your cheeks and you were begging him to stop. Dennis was generous and never met a need he didn’t try to fill.

His many nieces and nephews, all called “Honey” and “Buddy” because he couldn’t keep their names straight, could count on Uncle D.B. for some sound advice, solicited or not. So many people called Dennis a friend and their adventures with him could fill volumes.

After graduating from Streetsboro High School, Dennis served in the Army, worked at Baker Vehicle in Macedonia for 44 years, and, according to his accounts, had a short stint as Mel Gibson’s butt double.
