Dennis Ray Turley, 76 of Ravenna passed away Thursday November 24, 2011 at his residence. He was born September 4, 1935 in Charleston, WVA to the late Hezekiah and Carrie (Carter) Turley. Mr. Turley has lived in Ravenna since 2001 and was formerly of Kent, he was the owner of the Certified Security for 45 years, was a member of the Kent VFW and was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean War. Survivors include his wife of 53 years Grace M. (Butterbaugh) Turley, his son Kenneth R. (Bonnie) Turley of Northfield, his daughters, Sandy Fisher of Kent, Lynn (Tom) Bayus of Stow, Mildred Malek of Kent, his grandchildren Ian, Melissa, Christina, Stephanie, Brynn, Jillian, Amanda, Whitney, Dennis, Samantha, his great grandchildren Makayla, Brent, Aydin and Nathan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Ted and Alvin Turley. Calling hours will be from 11:00 AM until time of funeral services at 1:00 PM on Monday November 28, 2011 at the Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel with Rev. Bill Snyder officiating. Burial will follow with Military Honors by the Kent American Legion in Standing Rock Cemetery Kent, Ohio.
