Denzel P Jones, Jr.

Denzel Phil Jones, II affectionately known as DJ, 28, passed away suddenly at his home in Ravenna, Ohio on Wednesday, August 25, 2021. DJ was born on July 7, 1993. DJ’s friends and family will remember his kindness, generosity, and humor. DJ played many sports while attending Ravenna City schools, but his real passion was football. After graduating from Ravenna High in 2012, he continued his academic and football career at Akron University where received his bachelor’s degree. DJ leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Denzel and Octavia Jones, young son Liam, three brothers Xavier, Christian, and Caleb; grandmothers Paulette Jones and Debra Blue; and a host of other relatives and friends. Services will be held at Ravenna High School Auditorium on September 4, 2021, with calling hours from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. and funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. (MASKS ARE REQUIRED BY RAVENNA SCHOOL SUSTEM) Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park Ravenna, Ohio.  Condolences and memories of DJ may be shared with his family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
