Derris N Cottrell

Derris N. Cottrell, 87 of Edinburg, passed away Saturday December 24, 2022 at his home.  On October 1, 1935, he was born in Akron, Ohio to there late Oral and Margaret (Smith) Cottrell.  Mr. Cottrell has lived in Edinburg since 1967 and was a retired engineer from the Davis Standard Corporation formerly y known as the NRM Corporation.  He was a veteran of the US Army serving from July 21, 1955 to July 8, 1957.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ritha J. Cottrell in 2019 and his sister Janet Croft.  Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter Sheri A. (David) Hutson, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and his sister Marlene Yates.  At his request, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life service will be held 2:00 Pm Saturday January 14, 2022 at the Newton Falls First Church God.  Condolences and memories of Derris may be shared with his family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.  The family ask that instead of flowers please give a loved one a hug.
