Donald A. "Danny" Trocchio

March 17, 1921 — June 24, 2011

Donald A. "Danny" Trocchio, 90,  of Ravenna, Ohio, passed away at Robinson Memorial Hospital on June 24, 2011.  He was born on Saint Patrick's Day in 1921 in Ravenna, Ohio to Galliano and Susie Trocchio.  Danny graduated in the class of 1940 from Ravenna High School and was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of WW II.  After 42 years, he retired from the White Rubber Company as a shop supervisor.  He was a charter member of the Italian-American Club, past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus and a member of Immaculate Conception Church.  He could often be found at McDonald's after the 9 o'clock Mass.  Danny was an avid golfer and eventually worked at Kent State University Golf Course as a starter.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife Blanche Estelle, brothers William and Edward, sisters Marie Ford and Bernadine Wood and his son-in-law Ron Dyett.

Survivors include his children Don (Cyndy) Trocchio, daughter Sue Dyett, grandchildren Clinton and Laura Trocchio, Chris Dyett and Alissa (Brian) Nichols, great grandchildren Ava and Annika Nichols, sisters Verna Flogge and Madonna Mendiola.

Calling hours will be 4-7 PM Monday June 27, 2011 at Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel.  A mass of Christian Burial will be  10:00 AM Tuesday June 28,  2011 at St. Patricks Church in Kent, Ohio with Fr. Richard Pantello.   Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery Ravenna, Ohio.  Memories may be shared with the family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com
