 
  
 Donald A. Kearley 79 of Rootstown died Monday, July 30, 2012. He was born September 21, 1932 in Harrisburg, PA to the late Aubrey and Victoria (Evans) Kearley. Don was a US Air Force veteran, retired autoworker from GM in Lordstown and a member of the Ravenna Assembly of God and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Don lived his life honoring the Lord, attending and serving within the church, teaching Sunday school, and being well versed in scripture. He was an avid Steelers fan, had a life long passion for cars and always enjoyed having cats and dogs around the house. He loved going to the Rootstown Cracker Barrel and visiting with the staff. It was not uncommon to see Don looking sharp and sporting his suits and ties. Don had a great sense of humor and was loved everywhere he went. He will be missed by the staff and residents of Mulberry Gardens along with all of his family and friends.  Survivors include his daughters Joy (Jon) Williams of Canton, Diane Brumbaugh of Tallmadge and Joni (James) Reeves of Uniontown, sons Donald Jr. (Julie) of Columbus and Scott (Sandy) of Rootstown, 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and sisters Audrey (Milford) Douthett of AZ and Carol (Max) Mercer of Canada. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Vivian L. in 1988 and a sister Rita Garris. Calling hours will be from 4 - 8 PM Thursday, August 2, 2012 and 10 - 11 AM Friday, August 3, 2012 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday with Dave Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Homeland Cemetery in Rootstown. The family request memorials to the Portage County APL, P.O.
