Donald Lee "Smitty" Smith 72 of Ravenna passed away Friday, April 16, 2010 at his home with his loving family around him. He was born May 9, 1937 in Ravenna to Howard Smith and Gladys (Delin) Longstreth. Don served with the US Navy from 1957 - 1960, ran in several Marathons, and retired from Chrysler Stamping Plant in Twinsburg. Survivors include his loving wife whom he married June 17, 1989, Charlotte (Justice) Smith, mother, Gladys Longstreth of Kent, daughter, Anne (Dennis) Boswell of Hudson, step-daughters, Charlene (Jeff) Gregg of Garrettsville, Brenda (Brett) Linton of Ravenna, son, Tracy L. (Brenda) Smith of Gilbert, SC, step-son, Donald Stombaugh of Ravenna, grandchildren, Amanda, Todd, Brian, Jennifer, Briana, Larrissa, Tanya, Brooke, Blair, Jessica, Bryce, great grandchildren, Kaelynn, Ryder, Emilynn, sisters Dorothy (Ted) Watters, Virginia Smith, Bobbi Smith, Jean (Harold Myers, and a brother, William (Brenda) Smith. He was preceded in death by his father. Calling hours will be held from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM Monday, April 19, 2010 at the Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, April 20, 2010 with Pastor Wayne Koenig officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
