Donna Armstrong

Donna Jenne Armstrong, formerly of Freedom Township, Ohio, and more recently of Florida, passed away on Monday July 20, 2026 at the age of 80. 

Born on December 15, 1945, in Cleveland, Ohio, Donna was raised in New Concord, Ohio, where she developed the values of hard work, kindness, and service that would define her life. She later made her home on her beloved 28 acre property in Freedom Township, Ohio, where she lived for more than 30 years. In 2007, she moved to Florida to be closer to her daughter, where she enjoyed the next chapter of her life surrounded by family while remaining deeply connected to the place she had always called home.

Donna believed life was meant to be lived with gratitude. No matter what life threw her way, she always found the good in it. That quiet optimism became one of the greatest gifts she shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her compassionate heart, generous spirit, and genuine kindness made her someone people naturally gravitated toward. She was the most caring, giving, and beautiful person her family had ever known, and she was loved by everyone whose life she touched.

Her greatest joy was her family. She cherished every moment spent with those she loved and found immense happiness in watching her family grow through the generations. She also took tremendous pride in her home and property in Freedom Township, where she found peace among her horses, cherished her many family dogs, and enjoyed the beauty of the land she loved so deeply.

Donna’s strong work ethic was evident throughout her life. She spent many years at the Main Street Meat Market in Garrettsville, later served as a school bus driver for the James A. Garfield School System, and concluded her career as Seafood Manager at IGA in Streetsboro. Whether serving customers, transporting students, or working alongside coworkers, Donna earned the respect and admiration of those around her through her dedication, knowledge, kindness, and ever present smile.

Donna believed communities become stronger when people give of themselves. She devoted countless hours to organizations that supported children, families, and senior citizens. She served as President of the James A. Garfield Preschool Mothers Club, President of the Garrettsville Junior Women’s Club, and PTA President. She organized community events, supported local families, volunteered wherever she was needed, and helped host programs for senior citizens. Throughout her life she received numerous recognitions for her leadership and service, but those who knew Donna best understood she never volunteered for recognition. She simply wanted to make life better for others.

A devoted Methodist, Donna lived her faith through quiet acts of kindness, generosity, and service. Whether caring for her family, helping a neighbor, or volunteering in her community, she reflected the values she held dear every day of her life.

Donna was preceded in death by her beloved husband of more than 40 years, Almeron Nelson Armstrong; her son, Alan Michael Armstrong; and her sister, Constance Carrie Dent Enos.

She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Peggy Michele Storozuk, and son in law, Jodylee Storozuk; her grandchildren, Brianna Githens, Alan Armstrong Jr., and Austin Armstrong; her great grandchildren, Asher Githens and Lennox Armstrong; her sister in law, Carolyn Gorczyca; her brother in law, Dennis Gorczyca; her nieces, Carrie Michalak and Sherry Matthews; along with many extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were blessed by knowing her.

Donna’s greatest legacy was never found in the positions she held or the recognition she received. It was found in the countless lives she touched through her kindness, generosity, unwavering faith, and unconditional love for her family. She treasured her home, her horses, her many family dogs, and the simple joys of life. No matter what life brought her, she always found the good in it.

Calling hours will be from 2 PM to 4 PM on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel. A private family service will be held with burial in Drakesburg Cemetery.
