Doris J. Swartz 91 of Ravenna passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2016. She was born July 30, 1925 in Belleville, WV to the late Eldon C. and Mary G. (Pierce) Hale. After raising her two sons, she went to work in the cafeteria for Ravenna City Schools where she worked for 30 years. Doris couldn't go anywhere in the Ravenna area without running into a former student. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her family. Survivors include her sons Ricky (Becky) Swartz of Ravenna and Randy (Mary) Swartz of Canfield, grandchildren Joshua, Becca and Malia Swartz, great granddaughter Penelope Boyce, sister Ruth Carmichael of Marietta, brother Leo (Mary Lou) Flinn of Florida and sister in law Doris Hale of Freedom Twp. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Richard "Dick" Swartz, sisters Neva Smith and Reva White, brothers Orlin, Argyl and Harold Hale and Debbie Roshetsky. Calling hours will be from 5 - 8 PM Monday, August 22, 2016 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11 AM Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at the funeral home with Nephew Ronald Stephens officiating.
