Doris June (Holmes) Draves

September 26, 1928 — July 21, 2013

Doris June Draves 84 of Streetsboro  went home to be with the Lord on Sunday July 21, 2013 at the Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna.  She was born September 26, 1928 in LeRoy, Michigan to the late Sylvester  and Lillian Pearl (Langworthy) Holmes .  Doris has lived in Streetsboro since 1956 and had worked at Cast Specialty in Cleveland as a punch press operator.  She was a member of the Liberty Valley Church of Macedonia and enjoyed canning vegetables  from her garden, crossword puzzles, crocheting and traveling. She was also  known as a practical joker  and  a storyteller, reminiscing  about her days of growing up. Doris was a devoted mother to  Charles W. (Nancy A. Murphy) Draves , III of Akron, Vaughna (James) Goodmote of Rootstown and Charis (Brian) Kepich of Streetsboro.  She was adored by her 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her  siblings Wendell Holmes, Elden Holmes, Wilda Shaw and Shirley Moffit all of Michigan, sister in law Evelyn (Dale) Treace of Mansfield and many nieces and nephews.  In addition  to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years  Charles W. Draves, Jr. and siblings Doyle, Alvin, Sherman, Myrna Holmes, Aletha Feeley and Vesta Smith.  Anyone knowing Doris would have thought of her as down to earth and a true friend.  She be will deeply  missed and never forgotten.  Calling hours will be 6-8 PM Wednesday July 24, 2013 and on Thursday July 25, 2013 from 12 noon until time of funeral services at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jeffrey Tauring officiating at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Streetsboro Chapel.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery Streetsboro, Ohio.  Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
