Doris V. Schoning

Doris V. Schoning 84, of Ravenna, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. She was born October 14, 1941 in Uniontown, PA. the youngest of eight children, to the late Frank and Lena Gaster.

Doris retired from Maplewood Career Center in 2016 as the Adult Basic and Literacy Education (ABLE) Coordinator.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Herb and six siblings.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Sharon Hull; brother, Eugene Gaster and 21 nieces and nephews.

In honoring Doris's wishes, she will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family request that donations in Doris’s name be made to the Portage County APL.
