Dorothy Jane Benson

Dorothy J Benson, a daughter given by the Lord to Jay and Ruth, was born in Corsica, Pennsylvania on June 1, 1920, and died unexpectedly, Friday evening, January 11, 2013 in her home at the Waterford Mansion Assisted Living Facility, Oklahoma City, Ok. Today we rejoice in the knowledge that she has passed the barrier of time as we know it, and is forever at home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she loved and faithfully served. Dorothy retired from the Second National Bank in Ravenna , Ohio in 1982 and moved to Oklahoma in 2004 to be closer to family. Dorothy was a member of the First Church of God in Ravenna .

Preceding her in death was her husband of 54 years, Ted, who died in 1995.

Surviving are one daughter and two sons: Barbara Smith, Donald Benson and wife Kathy, and James Benson and wife Judy. She is also remembered and loved by 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, a sister, Edna and two brothers, Bill and Merle.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, from 6-8 PM at Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel , a nd again on Friday from 10AM until the 11AM service at the First Church of God, 237 New Milford Rd Ravenna, OH 44266 , with the Rev Ed Beck officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park in Ravenna . Memorials may be made to the First Church of God.
