Dorothy A. (Davis) Kemerer Manarik

Dorothy A. Kemerer Manarik 86 of Akron and formerly of Ravenna, passed away Friday February 21, 2014 at Loranttfy Care Center in Akron.  She was born October 13, 1927 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Charles and Jessie (Patterson) Davis.  Mrs. Kemerer Manarik  was a veteran of the Army Nursing Corp.  which helped her become a registered nurse working for Robinson Memorial Hospital  where she retired in 1974.  She enjoyed knitting and traveling and  had attended the Greensburg United Methodist Church in Green.  Survivors include  her children Joyce (Jim) Maddox of Florida, Charles (Sandy) Kemerer of Columbus, John (Karen) Kemerer of Green, six  grandchildren, six great grandchildren, her step children Holly Schergen, Gail Zimmerman, Dawn Nagle, four step grandchildren  and brothers Chuck Davis of Tallmadge, John Davis of Indiana, Bob Davis of Ravenna and Bill Davis of Virginia.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands Charles W. Kemerer in 1962, Robert Manarik in 2000 and her brother George Davis.  Friends  may call on Thursday February 27, 2014 from 6-8 PM at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral  Homes Ravenna Chapel where funeral services will be 11:00 AM on Friday February 28, 2014 with Chaplain Bill Eshelman officiating.  Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery Ravenna, Ohio.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Haven of Rest in Akron, the American Heart Association or Crossroads Hospice.
