Dorothy M. (Jones) Huffman

Dorothy M. Huffman, 87, of Ravenna, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Kent Ridge Assisted Living. She was born on May 1, 1924 in Yeagertown, Pennsylvania to the late Carl and Wanda (Yoder) Jones. Dorothy was a member of the First Christian Church of Ravenna and was retired from Ravenna City School System , where she worked as a cook. she was also a Rosie the Riveter During WWII, a  former member of the Ravenna Federations  of Women's  Clubs and member of the Ravenna Boat Club. Dorothy enjoyed camping  and was a NASCAR fan. She is
survived by her daughter, Jodi (Dennis) Groves of Ravenna; sons, Darryl (Penny) Huffman of Youngstown and Derek (Cameron) Huffman of Deerfield; seven grandchildren, Brandt Huffman, Kristan Pechatsko, Katy Sudol, Tina and Nathan Huffman, and Matt and Nick Groves; and seven great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents,  Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband , Dillon Huffman; sisters, Phyllis Pennepacker and Pat; and brothers, Robert, Donald, and Earl
Jones. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 10AM until the 12PM service at the Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel.  Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, or  Victory Junction Camp, (a camp for kids with special needs) victoryjunction.org.
