Dorothy E (Tewell) Reckner

Dorothy E. Reckner 90 of Rootstown passed away Sunday May 27, 2012 at the Copley Healthcare Center.  She was born June 3, 1921 in Fairmont, WVA to the late Oran and Viola (Nedley) Tewell.  Mrs. Reckner has lived in Rootstown most of her life and was a member of the Rootstown United Methodist Church.  In 1981 she retired from Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna where she worked in the laundry department.  Survivors include her son Donald (Donna) Reckner, Jr. of Rootstown, her daughter Linda (Jeff) Nicolaus of Randolph, her grandchildren Tracy and David Dietz, D.R. and Ben Reckner, her great grandchildren Nathan, Jacob, Lucca and sisters June Folk of Salem and Virginia Tewell of Rootstown.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Donald Sr on July 19, 1981, her brothers Donald and Edgar Tewell and sister Kathryn Gwynn.  Calling hours will be Thursday May 31, 2012 from 6-8 PM at Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel.  Private family services will be held on Friday June 1, 2012 with burial to follow in Homeland Cemetery Rootstown, Ohio.  Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
