Dorothy W. (Wright) Hanft

Dorothy W. Hanft 84 of Rootstown passed away Sunday, September 5, 2010 at Robinson Memorial Hospital. She was born January 2, 1926 in Somerset County, PA to the late Harvey and Prema (Argenbright) Wright. Coming from Pennsylvania, Dorothy has lived in the Rootstown area since 1956 where she was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.  She began working at Robinson Memorial Hospital as a Nurse for 9 years, then worked with Webb Medical Associates where she retired in 1987.  Survivors include her loving husband, Oscar Hanft whom she married in 1946;
daughter, Barbara (Dale) Deist of Greenville, PA; sons, William Hanft of Tallmadge, Michael (Jennifer) Hanft of Rootstown; sister Jacqueline Wright of NC; grandchildren, Kristen (Deist) (Matthew) Wilson, Carrilyn Deist, David Deist, Joshua Hanft, Megan Hanft; great grandchildren, Leah Hanft, Lily Wilson, and Liam Wilson.  Besides her parents she was preceded in death by grandson, William Hanft, Jr., and brother, John Wright.  Calling hours will be held from 6 - 8 PM Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel.  Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, September 9, 2010 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 170 North Freedom Street Ravenna, Ohio, with calling hours being held one hour prior to the service.  Pastor Dan Caruso will be officiating.  Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com
