Douglas Schantz

Douglas Schantz 78 of Streetsboro passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at UH Portage Medical Center. He was born September 3, 1945 in Washington, Iowa to Joseph P. and Opal L. (Wilson) Schantz. Douglas was a US Army Reserve and US Navy veteran, a member of the Charles Faust Post 281 American Legion and worked in the refrigeration department at Stouffers/Nestles in Solon for 55 years. Survivors include his wife Sally (Lacy), daughter Christina (Brad) Combs and favorite grandson Jonathan Combs, siblings Brenda Broghammer, Carolyn Guenther and Deborah Hankins and several nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Kevin J. Schantz and a sister Sandra R. Latham. Memorial calling hours will be from 12:00 PM until time of services at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Streetsboro. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to the American Cancer Society.
