Earl Henry Wright of Freedom and Shalersville went to a better place Thursday, June 23, 2011. He was born on January 28, 1932 in Shalersville and moved to Freedom in 1962 and spent the rest of his life there. Earl worked at Colonial Rubber, Samuel Moore, Darwall, Flintkote, Scott Gage and Whiggam before starting his own business in 1973, Streetsboro Bookkeeping Inc. preparing income taxes which he enjoyed the people very much.Earl enjoyed fishing and playing with wood, also enjoyed feeding the birds, deer and Mother Nature. Earl also enjoyed driving around the back roads. Earl was a veteran of the Korean War, spent five years in the U.S. Army. He was a member of VFW, American Legion, Portage Faith Methodist Church and Beekeepers Association. Earl is survived by his wife Patricia; they married on October 31, 1983. His sons Frank(Valerie) of North Carolina, Tim of Shalersville, Andrew of Streetsboro and daughter Jane(Jeff) also of Shalersville, brothers Lee of Idaho, Lynn(Sharon) and sister Helen(Don) of South Carolina, Five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Make any memorial contributions to the Shalersville Historical Society, or make someone smile or laugh, take someone out to the country and smell the flowers, or make a shut-in a homemade pie. Most importantly, Earl was 100% American and bought American made products whenever possible. Calling Hours will be held from 3-7 PM Sunday, June 26, 2011 at the Shorts Spcier Crislip Funeal Home Streetsboro Chapel. The Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM Monday, June 27, 2011 with Rev. Carolyn Berry officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery Shalersville following the service.
